My Favorite Character Meals At Disney World

If like me you are a big Disney fan and love meeting the characters at the Disney parks then why not have a character meal. For those of you that don’t know, a character meal is basically a meal where different characters come to your table for photos. Disney have been doing these for years and at Disney World in Florida, there are many different restaurants that offer a character dining experience. Many character meals are at breakfast, although you do get ones at lunch and dinner too. A character meal is a great way to meet different Disney characters, especially harder to find ones.

Here are all of the places you can enjoy a character meal. If you are on the Disney Dining Plan, as of 2017 all of these restaurants are accepted on the regular and deluxe plans. Cinderella’s Royal Table takes 2 table service credits off of your plan, while the rest take 1. These restaurants do get popular so reservations are highly recommend.

In the Disney resorts

  • Supercalifragilistic Breakfast at 1900 Park Fare, Grand Floridian.
  • Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner at 1900 Park Fare, Grand Floridian.
  • Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe, Beach Club.
  • Chef Mickey’s Fun Time Buffet at Chef Mickey’s, Contemporary Resort.
  • Best Friends Breakfast With Lilo And Stitch at Ohana, Polynesian Village.

In the theme parks

  • Princess Storybook Dining at Akershus Banquet Hall, Epcot.
  • Chip And Dale’s Harvest Feast at The Garden Grill, Epcot.
  • Cinderella’s Royal Table, Magic Kingdom.
  • Crystal Palace, Magic Kingdom.
  • Donald’s Dining Safari at Tusker House Restaurant, Animal Kingdom.
  • Minnie’s Seasonal Dining at Hollywood And Vine, Hollywood Studios.

In this post I’m going to tell you which ones were my favorites at Disney World.

Chef Mickey’s

Located at the Contemporary Resort is Chef Mickey’s. As you can guess from the name this is Mickey Mouse’s restaurant. Open for breakfast and dinner is Chef Mickey’s Fun Time Buffet where Mickey serves up an excellent buffet. Here you can meet Minnie, Goofy, Pluto, Donald and Mickey himself all dressed in chef’s clothing. The buffet offers a good choice of food, where there is something to suit everyone.

Cape May Cafe

At the Beach Club Resort is Minnie’s Beach Bash Breakfast at Cape May Cafe. Keeping with the beach theme you can meet Goofy, Donald and Minnie all dressed in beach clothing. The all you can eat buffet here is great and meeting the characters was really fun.

If you love character dining and good food I highly recommend the Best Friends Breakfast With Lilo And Stitch. Food here is all you can eat, although it is served a bit differently to a buffet. Instead of getting up for food the food is brought to you. To start, different fruit is brought to your table, along with my personal favorite – pineapple bread. The bread tasted amazing and it tasted so good I had to order more. A big plate of sausages, bacon, egg, biscuits and Mickey Waffles then gets put in front of you. Need any more, just ask and your server will fill it up for you. Characters here are dressed in Hawaiian style clothing and include Mickey, Pluto, Lilo and Stitch.

Donald’s Dining Safari

At Tusker House Restaurant in Animal Kingdom you can enjoy Donald’s Dining Safari. Available as breakfast, lunch or dinner, you can enjoy an all you can eat buffet along with meeting some Disney characters dressed in safari clothing. This one is great as it is one of the only character meals where you can meet Daisy Duck. Daisy is my favorite Disney character and she isn’t the easiest to find either. They also do Krispy Kremes on the buffet too.

1900 Park Fare

If you love anything Cinderella then I highly recommend dinner at 1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian Resort. At Cinderella’s Happily Ever After Dinner you can meet Cinderella and her family. The characters are really interactive here and you can meet Cinderella, Prince Charming, Lady Tremaine, Anastasia and Drizella. Cinderella’s family are not easy to find characters either, especially Prince Charming.

The Garden Grill

I definitely think this is a very overlooked character meal. Chip And Dale’s Harvest Feast is located at the Garden Grill in Epcot. I really enjoyed meeting the characters, plus the restaurant moves. Yep, that’s right it actually moves around in a circle. It moves really slow though so you can’t actually feel it. Like breakfast at Ohana, the food gets brought to your table and is all you can eat. Food includes turkey, sweet potato fries, veg and mac and cheese. Plus you get to meet Mickey mouse dressed like a farmer.

So these are my favorite character meals in Walt Disney World. I’ve been to other character meals at Disney, but these ones in my opinion are the best. Have you ever done any character meals?

  1. I had no idea they did things like this, it sounds like such a great idea! I love all your photos too, personally I’d love the Cinderella one – it was one of my favourite Disney films growing up, and it’d be like I was right back in my childhood! 🙂 xo
